As a chronic organizer and one-on-one learning support teacher, I take so much joy helping others find order in chaos and learn more about how their brains naturally function to sort and organize tasks. I teach executive function skills to help improve all areas of time-management, materials-management, and information-management.
I approach each student individually to guide reflection on their areas of strength and challenge within the world of executive functioning. I tap a deep well of resources to help my students explore tools like checklists, homework charts, the Pomodoro Technique, Google Keep, Eisenhower Matrix to do lists, digital apps, visual aids, and many more. Together we will explore different resources to see which ones resonate with each student’s particular habits and learning style.
I don’t think you’re ever too old to explore new ways to organize habits and information, and I love working on EF skills with students of all ages.

As a published writer and English teacher, I love helping students discover and use their voice through writing. Creating the college essay (and supplemental essays!) can be a daunting process, but over the past 2 decades of helping others craft these unique pieces of writing, I’ve developed a multi-step process that helps all students - no matter their writing ability - create an essay that accurately reflects who they are and what they can offer a college environment.

Transitioning from one program to another can require a whole new toolset, and I love helping students consider which of their academic habits will (or won’t!) be helpful in a future school setting.
I work with each student individually to help them transition from one program to another, most commonly from middle school to high school, the IB Middle Years Programme to the Diploma Programme, and from high school to college.
In the realm of executive function, we examine what has and hasn’t worked for them in the past and consider how these habits might translate to their new program. We then work together to hone habits that will be the most beneficial to their future set of expectations.
In the realm of academic content, we work together as much as possible to preview future material so they already have familiarity with the academic topics as they adjust to the new structures of a different program.

As a writer and English teacher, my passion has always been helping students discover the possibilities hidden in literature. Throughout my English career, I have taught all levels from middle school to developmental high school to higher level International Baccalaureate. I tap into my deep well of resources to determine which reading strategies will best fit my students. I meet students where they’re at to help them discover their own unique path to loving literature. I help students access texts through aesthetic education practices and their own personal interests, which enables all kinds of learners to make a connection to a text.
In the realm of writing support, I work with my students to determine which skills they’ve mastered and which ones they’d like to hone, whether it be vocabulary, spelling, grammar, or other writing conventions.
